Dave Aftandilian Brilliant blend of crushing doom, cosmic psychedelia, and ritual despair. Hooded figures process endlessly toward the black horizon, falling off the edge of the world and into oblivion. They do not see the bloody moon exploding across the sky; the flickering serpent mirrored in the stars. Once I thought I could lead them to salvation, but they are beyond hope. Now I journey alone to the black temple in the shining desert, never to return.

"Towards the Void" is the debut EP by Brazilian Psychedelic Doom Metal act Absent.

Recorded in 2016, the album was released in Brazil on digipak CD via four Brazilian labels: The Metal Vox, Resistência Underground, Left Hand Records and Misanthropic Records.

A jewel case CD version was released in Canada via World War Now Records.

Early 2019 will bring the LP version, to be released via Cursed Tongue Records (Denmark).

This album is an absolute banger. The riffs are especially groovy this time, the vocals are amazing, and the overall thing is supercatchy. If I'd have to list one downside, it's that the mix is so bass-heavy that the sound only truely comes into it's right when listened on good headphones or extremely good speakers. On anything less it can sound like the bass drowns the rest of the music out. 9/10 Buzzario

Comme Satan Worshipping Doom et Miserable, Terminal est un album qui vraiment toute son ampleur quand il est écouté d'une traite car il s'agit d'une lente agonie qui s'étend sur presque trois-quarts d'heure. Les sonorités psychédéliques propres à Bongripper sont absentes et le stoner/doom metal du quartette tend plutôt vers une sphère atmosphérique (certains arpèges de "Slow" ne sont pas éloignés de celles de Earth) voire funéraire et la mort finit par s'imposer comme la seule évidence possible.
